Dr. Hood Biggers
You know you are in great hands with Hood E. Biggers, DDS at his Midlothian, VA dentist office. Dr. Biggers has been practicing dentistry for more than 30 years, 25 of them in his own practice. A Michigan native, he is a 1986 graduate of the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. A sports fan, he served as the official dentist for the Richmond Renegades hockey team for 15 years.

Even though he has been a dentist for three decades, Dr. Biggers is always interested in acquiring new skills, especially if they involve using the latest dental technology. Dr. Biggers and his staff consider their patients part of a big, extended “family.” As he says, “We know their names and faces and treat them as if we’ve known them forever, even if it is the first time we’ve met.” Dr. Biggers enjoys working with people of all ages in his practice, and he has patients ranging in age from 2 to 98 to prove it!
Dr. Biggers enjoys sharing time with his immediate family as well. He and his wife, Yasmine, have a blended family of five children. Dr. Biggers knows the names of at least some of the Disney princesses, thanks to his six granddaughters, all of whom are under the age of 11.

Shannon enjoys helping our patients get better smiles. One of her future goals is to attend dental school and begin developing her career in the dental field even further. Shannon is a mother of two and loves spending time with them whenever she can. Her hobbies include photography, art, and travel. She is always looking for her next adventure.

Carolyn is here to help you have a pleasant experience! She especially loves to make patients laugh. She has been working in the dental field since 1998, so she definitely knows how to help you feel at ease while in the patient chair! Carolyn joined our team in 2017. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and spoiling her two grandchildren.

Maysoon is relatively new to the dental field. She began working as a dental assistant in 2016 and joined our team the following year. She really enjoys helping our patients feel confident in their smile. When she’s not busy at the office, Maysoon enjoys painting and spending time with her family. She has many siblings and a young son who make her very happy.

- Dr Biggers has been our family dentist for over 25 years. Recently I lost a large part of one tooth which left a sharp edge in my mouth. This happened about 5 pm two Thursdays ago. I called his office and left a voicemail since they had already closed for the day. Dr Biggers called me back within 2-3 minutes, heard my situation and insisted I come to his office right away. (This in spite of his leaving early the nest mornong for an out-of-town medical seminar.) I arrived around 5:30 pm, and he and his awesome assistant Mina were both waiting for me. By 6 pm I was all fixed and ready to go. It's caring like this which gives Dr Biggers and his dedicated, friendly professional crew such high marks. My hygeniest, Tammy is wonderful and has been cleaning my teeth for over 15 years! She is thorough and as gentle as she can be in addition to sharing her findings with me. - "The Dream Team" For almost 25 years Dr. Biggers has done quality work for me. 25 Years ago I lost a tooth, and Dr. Biggers fixed it. The tooth is still in there and holding up! When my husband lost his job and we didn't have any health coverage, Dr. Biggers' office accommodated us in rescheduling his appointment. Dr. Biggers has a 3D x-ray machine, he discovered a medical problem that I would have never known about otherwise. After I had a tooth extracted last week, Dr. Biggers called to check on me that evening. Dr. Biggers has a warm and outgoing personality, with the ability to put people at ease. He is one of the few people left in this world that has not lost his human kindness, compassion, and charity. I have very sensitive teeth, and Tammy the hygienist is always gentle, takes her time, and she manually cleans my teeth. Shannon always accommodates us, whatever we need. - Mr. Biggers and his staff are more than amazing! They effortlessly strive for perfection and practice keeping their patients as comfortable and relaxed as possible. Their humor, hospitality, concern, and attention to detail is unparalleled. They are a busy office for a reason, and by busy I dont mean crowded. I mean they move efficiently. In other words you dont wait around all day for Doctors that are just chit chatting, they are busy bodies with attention to detail and customer relations. They tend to take patients by appointment immediately and get you taken care of professionally with a side dry humor that is always worth the laugh. - A+ place. I would recommend to anyone and everyone. Moved from out of state, took my time finding the perfect dentist office and I found it. Believe me, I’m picky about my dentist office, more specifically... the hygienist. Tammy the hygienist took her time, and was as gingerly as possible. I just had my teeth cleaned, they don’t hurt at all and I didn’t take any ibuprofen before I went. If you have sensitive teeth, come here. The staff was polite and personable. - Doc and staff are wonderful. Due to trigeminal nerve damage from a car accident I have a hard time with the nerves in my face..... taking care of me isnt easy..but Dr. Biggers and his staff reaaaly take care of me.. after my accident i was so fearful of having work done i avoided dentists. - I've been there a 3 times in about 2 months. Every time was more pleasant than the next. They treat you like your family and do great work. Dr Biggers does everything he can to make you comfortable. I had a tooth pulled and two cavities filled and it was about as painless as it possibly could be.
